Peak Copper Peak provides the visitor with the most unique panoramic
views found anywhere in the Midwest. From the top of Copper Peak it is possible
to see 40 or more miles in every direction. This mammoth structure rises some
241 feet above the crest of Chippewa Hill, a copper-bearing rock outcrop. An 18
story elevator provides access to the observation deck. Porcupine
Mountains Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park is Michigan's largest
state park, and one of the Midwest's largest wilderness areas. Splendid scenery,
pristine old growth forest, scenic vistas mark "the Porkies" as the premier wilderness
area in the Midwest. Cisco
Chain of Lakes The Cisco Chain of Lakes is made up of 15 lakes with
over 271 miles of scenic shoreline. The lakes are dotted with many islands for
picnicking and the spring-fed waters offer excellent fishing for walleye, northern
pike, muskies, bass and panfish. The current state record musky was caught in
Thousand Island Lake in 1980. Western
U.P. Waterfalls There are more than 150 waferfalls across this breathtaking
area of the Upper Peninsula. In the Autumn, the waterfalls are framed by maple
crimson and aspen gold. In the winter, they create strange ice formations. All
are spectacles of white splendor that are sure to make any vacation memorable.
